The UK Skim Fest is over for another year, and what a mix it was this year! It was one of the best years so far, with a nice relaxed vibe, great waves and great skimming.
Saturday saw bright sunshine, solid 2ft waves and some of the best skimboarding we have seen in the UK to date thanks to Zap rider Mega. He put on an awesome display of what can be done in smaller conditions. The general UK skim level is up again, with a lot of people really showing improvement this year.
Sunday dawned overcast, windy and raining. The decision was taken at 11am to cancel the Skim Fest for Sunday as it was impossible to skim in the strong onshore winds. Also most people who stayed overnight decided to go home early because of the weather. It was a shame, it’s the first time we have had to cancel the Skim Fest, but at least we had an amazing day on Saturday.
Skim Fest Photos
As ever, photos will be online shortly once we have collated them from the various people taking photos over the weekend. If you have any photos you want to submit for the gallery, then email them to info at sandskater.com.
Thanks again to everybody who came out to support the UK Skim Fest, and big up to the sponsors: Zap Skimboards and Circle One.
