THIS WEEKEND - 20/21 SEPTEMBER
Yeah, it’s that time of year again, we are busy preparing for this years UK Skim Fest!
We are pleased to confirm that Zap Skimboards is sponsoring the event again, and we have already taken delivery of all the prizes which include 2 Zap Wedges skimboards, board bags, stickers, wax, hats and t-shirts.
Circle One are also on board as sponsor this year, and have given a load of goodies to win in the prize draw. They will also have a load of demo boards on hand for you to try out!

As in previous years, the prize draw will be raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance who do an outstanding job of supplying much need rapid medical assistance throughout the whole of Devon.
So lets run over the plans for this weekend…….
Saturday 20th September
Kick off time: 10am
High tide: 9.30am
Prize Draw: 2pm
Tides are near perfect, so you’ll be able to skim waves during the morning, and in the afternoon it will be good for flatland when it starts to drop back.
Some skimboarding demos will be given from the Sandskater team, and we may run some skim workshops to help improve your skimming. Feel free to ask for advice, because the team will be on hand to answer your questions!
Saturday Evening:
Weather permitting, we will be having local band “The Iconyx” playing on the beach from about 5pm/6pm on Saturday evening. The band is fronted by Paignton skimboarder George Harris, and they have a loyal following in the south west - a must see for Saturday evening!
Later on in the evening most people tend to congragate around the bar on the sea front and also in the camping field - so come along and say hi.
Sunday 21st September
Kick off time: 10-11am
High tide: 10.30am
Prize Draw: 2pm
Sunday is a similar set up to Saturday, just with a slightly later high tide. This will mean the will be plenty of flatland skimming at low tide, while those seeking out waves will be score them during the morning.
Camping
Camping will be available in the same field as last year, and will be charged at £5 per person per night.
The camping is made available to us by the local farmer. Therefore, we have to respect his land, and not cause any disturbance to the local community. Any person found to be acting in an irresponsible manner or causing a disturbance (especially late evening) will be asked to leave the site, and no refund will be given.
