The 3rd round of the Skim UK/Sandskater UK Skim Tour went off without a hitch last weekend at Mother Iveys Bay near Padstow in Cornwall.

Competitors made the trip to Cornwall from as far afield as Swansea, Portsmouth and Bournemouth, and the youngest entrant to face the Iveys shorebreak was Nathaniel James at just 11 years old!
The conditions were nearly perfect, but the strong breeze made dropping the board a challenge. However the wind didn’t take long to drop and the semi’s and finals were held in some awesome skim waves.
One of the favorites to make the final was Mark Mason, but he snapped his board during the heats, and had to skim the semi-final on a borrowed board which he wasn’t used to. The end result is he missed out on the final by just half a point.
Simon English ended up as the winner, from Adam Wootton in 2nd place. Third went to Swansea local Chris Smith, with Ned Weight from Newquay coming in 4th.
