I am stoked to announce the Sandskater Team Challenge 2008.
All the members of the Sandskater skim team will be competing against each other for an all expenses paid trip to the Hossegor/Seignosse International Pro/Am Skimboarding Championships in France this August. Two places will be up for grabs.
The decision on who goes to France will be made by looking at contest results of the team members in all Skim UK contests between now and June. It will also take into account how much commitment and support they have shown towards UK skimboarding and Sandskater in general.
The aim is of this is two fold:
1: To raise the profile of the team members, to help push their level of skimboarding higher by giving them a goal to aim for. They are already some of the best in the UK, and this incentive will force them to reach a higher goal. Ultimately i am looking for a top 10 finish in the French contest from a Sandskater team rider.
2: To raise the ambitions of non team members, so they aspire to become better skimboarders. We want non team riders to have something to aim for. Being on the team, with a chance to have a free trip to represent the UK at an international skimboarding contest is a great goal to aspire for.
