You may have noticed over the past few weeks that we have added a section on the homepage (shop webcam & Paignton daily photo pages too!) that gives you updates to what we are doing throughout the day. (Click on thumbnail on the left to see what we are talking about!)
This has been enabled by us having a free Twitter account.
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
How we use Twitter
We use Twitter to provide up to date reports on our current local skim & surf conditions, post what we are up to at the weekends/evenings, and even send updates and photos direct from our mobile phones when we are out and about at the beach.
If you sign up for your free account at Twitter, you can choose which people you want to “follow”, so if you want to follow our updates, you just have to visit the Sandskater Twitter page and press the follow button.
Here’s a video that explains the Twitter concept in an easy way:
So, there you have it…
Thats Twitter explained for those not in the know. It’s gaining in popularity all over the world, with a lot of large organisations getting involved with Twitter, like the BBC for example.
So if you sign up, be sure to follow Sandskater to get all our updates, and we may even return the favour and follow you too!
