What are Heelys?
Heelys are a new craze sweeping the nation at the moment. They are a pair of trainers with a wheel in the heel allowing the wearer to roll across the ground with ease. You can even walk and run!
Heelys are very versatile because the wheel in the heel is removable! Each pair comes with 2 heel plugs, so you can plug the hole where the wheel was and use them as a normal pair of trainers! Two for the price of one!
Which model do I buy?
This is an easy one! All Heelys come with the same standard features, so just pick the one you like the look of best!
What size should I get?
Heelys are a bit on the small size, so it’s best to go up 1 size from that of your normal shoe.
This will allow a bit more comfort and a bit more growing room (extra insoles are useful to accommodate for space in the shoe)
Its also worth noting that Heelys don't produce half sizes.
1 wheel or 2 wheels?
There are 2 different wheel set ups on Heelys. 1 wheel allows you to go faster and turn quicker - the majority of Heelys have just one wheel. With 2 wheels, the 2nd wheel acts like training wheels on a bike. They basically allow you a bit more balance which helps you to gain confidence. Note: Don't use 2 wheel Heelys with only 1 wheel inserted
What is the ABEC rating?
The rating is relevant to the speed of the bearing. A higher number means a better bearing, so that means you go faster!!
