Sandskater website - web browser information
The information on
this page to is to show our commitment to making the Sandskater website compliant with all the latest internet standards.
You may see the following logo on some of our pages.
This is the indication that the page has been built using the latest international HTML standards
Here's the break down of what it means:
-
W3C is the World Wide Web Consortium.
The W3C develop and promote international internet standards.
-
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language.
HTML is the coded format language used for creating every web page on the internet and for controlling how web pages look in your browser.
-
4.01 is the version of HTML we use to make our web pages. This is the latest version.
Each page on the Sandskater website that displays the above logo has been tested and validated inline with the World Wide Web Consortium standards. This means we are using the latest internationally recognised HTML format, and insures that all
our pages work correctly on all modern web browsers. It also makes it easier for people with
disabilities to access our website.
How do we test our website? When we build the pages on this site, we test every page on a number of different browsers to insure
that the pages look and work the same whichever browser you use.
We currently test our
website on the
following popular browsers:
-
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5
-
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5
-
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
-
Netscape Navigator 4.7 - See note below
-
Netscape Navigator 6.0
-
Netscape Navigator 6.2
-
Opera 6.0
Note: If you are using Netscape 4.** you will notice the website has an 'unstyled' feel about it. This is because the older Netscape 4.** series of browsers do not support the latest internet standards. There is no need to worry about this, as we have made sure our site is fully functional in the older
Netscape browsers. The only downside is it doesn't look so 'pretty' !
