Sandskater cuts prices in line with VAT

November 25, 2008

Sandskater, a specialist water sports store at Manor Corner in Paignton, has today announced an immediate cut to all prices in line with VAT.

All prices will now be up to 2.5% cheaper thanks to the government’s decision to cut VAT from 17.5% to 15% from the 1st December 2008.

Sandskater owner, Matt Martin said “We aren’t going to wait until next Monday to help out our customers, we are passing on the VAT reduction with immediate effect.”

“After all the recent doom & gloom, we want to be seen to be taking a lead, and helping out cash stricken customers on the run up to Christmas” he added.

Changes to the prices in Sandskater’s online store were made within hours of the VAT announcement by Chancellor Alastair Darling, with the prices in store being changed today.

A £200 skimboard at Sandskater will now be nearly £5 cheaper, under the new 15% VAT rate. Sandskater also offer free delivery on everything, so if you can’t make it to the store, you can shop online and know you are getting the best prices in the bay.

Preston Skimboarding contest is a runaway success!

August 14, 2007

The 1st ever skimboard contest held at Preston Beach in Paignton last weekend was a

The over 16 final was the most intense round of the whole event, with 3 local teenagers Mark Mason, James Thurgood, and Adam Wooton all aiming for top spot. The round ended with James winning by just half a point from Adam Wooton, with Mark Mason in third place, just a half point behind.
